RBs Coach: Dunbar “Going to be a Complete Weapon”

Dunbar ran for 150 yards on 30 carries in 2013

With running back Lance Dunbar back healthy after suffering a season-ending knee injury last Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff seems to be giddy with ideas of how they can use him in 2014 forward.

Passing game coordinator and playcaller Scott Linehan, who spent the past five seasons as the Detroit Lions offensive coordinator, has already said that Dunbar’s speed and versatility reminds him of Reggie Bush. Running backs coach Gary Brown hasn’t offered any comparisons that we know of, but he too sees immense promise in Dunbar.

"Well, he's a guy that's going to be a complete weapon,” Browns said, per Steve Hunt of FOX Sports Southwest. “We can line him up anywhere on the team--tailback spot, at the wide receiver spot, in the slot. He has tremendous hands and he's just not a specialty guy. He could play tailback if you need him to go out there and give you 15 or 20 carries. He's that type of kid. "

“He brings a whole different dimension, a whole different vibe in our room as far as what he does and we're looking forward to using him as a weapon as well.”
