In a weekly post, we'll talk about where teams in the NFC East sit after each weekend of play.
1. New York Giants (4-4) — The Giants had a great chance to put some space between themselves and the rest of the division, and Eli Manning had a day for the ages with 350 yards, six touchdown passes and no interceptions, but the Giants still lost to Drew Brees and the Saints' newly rediscovered air attack. Next up: Sunday, 3:05 p.m., at Tampa Bay Bucs.
2. Dallas Cowboys (2-5) — Call me crazy, but I still think the Cowboys are first among the garbage in this division. A win Sunday over Philly would not only snap a five-game skid (four of which were totally winnable games) but also give the Cowboys a season sweep of Philly and draw them even in the win-loss column. Next up: Sunday, 7:25 p.m., vs. Philadelphia Eagles.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (3-4) — The Eagles are still trying to figure out their offense, and it's been hard to get on track because Sam Bradford has been basically a disaster at quarterback after Chip Kelly traded away Nick Foles for him in a move that was questioned then and is being resoundly doubted now. Next up: Sunday, 7:25 p.m., at Dallas Cowboys.
4. Washington Redskins (3-4) — The Redskins aren't going to win this week. Just not going to happen. Thanks for playing, though. Next up: Sunday, noon, at New England Patriots.
