Pouncey Would Be “Shocked” If He's Not a Cowboy

We’ve come to believe, based on the sheer amount of offensive linemen visiting Valley Ranch this week, that the Dallas Cowboys will draft an offensive lineman with the ninth overall pick in this month’s draft. According to Florida center/guard Mike Pouncey, he will likely be that offensive lineman.

After meeting with the team on Wednesday, Pouncey Tweeted that he believes that he’ll be wearing the blue and silver of the Cowboys next season. Here’s the post, all sic:

"Headed back to Pittsburgh ... would be shocked if i wasn't in a dallas uniform nxt year! The draft is april 28th so we will see ... To all the steelers fans i would love to be playing for the steelers and if i had a choice i would but it isnt my choice ...”

Pouncey, of course, is the twin brother of Pittsburgh Steelers’ center Maurkice Pouncey. The brothers were raised in Lakeland, Florida, but were born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, just over 100 miles north of Dallas.

Mike, an All American guard in 2009, was moved to center with the departure of Maurkice after the season, but is regarded by NFLDraftScout.com as the class’s best guard.
