Potential Target: Colt McCoy

In an ongoing thread of posts, we'll discuss potential free agent targets for the Dallas Cowboys coming off a 4-12 season, thanks in large part to several key injuries.

Target: Colt McCoy, QB
2015 stats: 7-for-11, 128 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions

McCoy didn't get much run in 2015, sitting behind the emerging Kirk Cousins in Washington, but he did get into the Week 17 game in Arlington and further torch the Cowboys in the Redskins' rout.

In 2014, however, McCoy got an extended run with injuries to both Cousins and Robert Griffin III. He played in five games and completed 71.1 percent of his passes for 1,057 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He also scored a big win over the Cowboys.

McCoy would be about as good an alternative out there in terms of a veteran, cheap backup if the Cowboys don't draft a quarterback in April.
