Potential Late-Round Target, TCU DE Stansly Maponga, Says His Foot's Fine

Maponga had surgery on the foot last month

TCU defensive end Stansly Maponga could be a late-round target for the Dallas Cowboys. He’s one of 28 prospects to have been invited to “Dallas Day” at Cowboys Stadium this week. And after undergoing foot surgery back in March, Maponga wants Dallas and all other potential NFL suitors to know that he’ll be just fine by the time rookies report to camp.

“I want to let teams know that I took care of the problem I had,” Maponga said recently, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’m going to be 100 percent before camp starts.”

Right now, Maponga is doing his best to just enjoy the wild ride that is the pre-draft dance between prospects and teams--he has already visited Dallas and Atlanta, and has a visit scheduled with the New England Patriots, as well--but he admits he’s looking forward to finding a home in the NFL.

“It’s just a blessing to be in this position,” Maponga said. “It’s exciting. The draft is just right around the corner now. …I’m ready to find out where I’m going.”
