Scandrick “Just Glad to be Back”

Scandrick made his season debut against the Rams on Sunday

Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick recorded five tackles and a hit on Rams quarterback Austin Davis in his return to the lineup on Sunday. But after serving two games of what was originally a four-game suspension for violating the league’s old performance enhancing drug policy, he was just glad to be back on the field.

"I’m just glad to be back, man," Scandrick said, per ESPN Dallas. "Driving to the airport, getting on that plane, waking up at the hotel, I was up since 4:30 in the morning I had such anxiety. I was just ready to go."

Scandrick got shaken up late in the game as he made a tackle on Rams tight end Jared Cook, but he should be fine going into next week’s Sunday Night Football matchup with the Saints at AT&T Stadium.

"He just kind of got my back when I went low," Scandrick said of the play. "I’m good. Just kind of like on impact a little shock, but I was going to come back in in a play or two, but Morris [Claiborne] obviously ended the game."
