On Deck: Bye Week

On Deck will be here all season to provide you with everything you need to know (and a few things you don't) about every Cowboys game during the 2013 season.

The Opponent: The biggest thing facing the Cowboys right now is their vast array of injuries, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The one established defensive lineman they have, Jason Hatcher, missed Sunday's loss with a stinger. The glue and heart of the Cowboys defense, with apologies to DeMarcus Ware, is Sean Lee, and now he's out for three or four weeks with a hamstring injury. The secondary is in awful shape right now, bad enough to where Dallas is working out guys like Michael Huff. Things just aren't looking good right now, and this bye week is a welcomed chance to assess and regroup a bit.

Who's Hot: Well, coming off the Cowboys' last debacle, there isn't much to be said here. Terrance Williams continued his nice string of games as a rookie, scoring another touchdown as he's easily become Tony Romo's second option at wideout behind Dez Bryant.

Who's Not: Coordinators. That's simple. Bill Callahan's play-calling has been under fire, and rightfully so. Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has been under more fire, and rightfully so. You think the Cowboys would take Rob Ryan back right now? I think I might.
