Okoye Playing Return By Ear

Amobi Okoye hasn't played a live snap since 2012

Cowboys defensive tackle Amobi Okoye is reportedly on track to return to action for the first time in over a year when he’s eligible to come off the non-football injury list in Week 7, but he’s not about to take anything for granted or try to anticipate whet his return will feel like.

"I'm just letting it freewheel," Okoye said, per ESPN Dallas. "I'm excited. I'm anxious. At the same time I'm curious."

Okoye missed all of 2013 after being diagnosed with anti-NMDA encephalitis, a serious and rare brain disorder that can be fatal. He even spent some time in March of last year in a medically induced coma.

"I feel a ton better, but time will tell,” Okoye said. “We're just taking things slowly and taking them the right way. We're just going to see how things go."
