Offseason Program is ‘Huge for Cowboys QB Kellen Moore

Moore is pushing to win the Cowboys' full-time backup job this offseason

This time last year, Kellen Moore was still a Detroit Lion.

The Boise State product had already spent three years with the Lions, from 2012 to 2014, when he was given a two-year deal in March of last year. But in training camp five months after that, Moore found himself among the Lions’ final cuts.

He moved on to the Cowboys in September, and finished the season as the team’s starting quarterback with Tony Romo hurt.

Now Moore is pushing to hold on to the backup job full-time, and he believes being here throughout the offseason will help him toward that end.

Doing the offseason program is huge after not being able to do it last year and I’m not having to play catch up,” Moore told the team’s official website.  “Learning new things is one thing but actually having the practice and executing is huge.  I feel a ton more confident.”

Moore finished the 2015 season 0-2 in the first two starts of his career, with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Overall, he had four touchdowns and six interceptions.
