For reasons beyond us or, for that matter, probably, anyone else, a host of North Texas athletes and personalities were recently featured in a hellish karaoke version of Faith Hill's "This Kiss."
Granted, in a direct sense, the video was made to promote Super Bowl XLV, and was debuted at Faith Hill's concert at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, the first in the Super Bowl XLV Kick-Off Concert Series. But the question remains, after a quick viewing of the video: why?
Featuring, among others, a leather jacket-clad Jerry Jones, a Starter hat-clad Tony Romo, Emmitt Smith, and a very committed Dirk Nowitzki, the video is reminiscent of every bad karaoke club experience in recorded history. But since we've seen it, we won't hesitate to subject the reader to this maladroit take on a classic:
Now that your eyes and ears are irrevocably damaged, it's time to look at the bright side: when choosing a Faith Hill song to use for this promotional sing-a-long, at least they didn't choose "Let's Make Love." That might have been awkward.
