No Thanksgiving Day Break for Dallas in 2014

The Dallas Cowboys will be playing three games in 11 days in November of this year

The Dallas Cowboys weren’t likely doing cartwheels when the NFL announced the 2014 regular season schedule on Wednesday night.

This is because, usually, Dallas gets a nice break after their annual Thanksgiving Day game--a little mini-bye week. Not so, this year.

The Cowboys will face the New York Giants in East Rutherford, N.J. the Sunday night before Thanksgiving--which, as David Moore of the Dallas Morning News points out, marks just the second time in the last decade that they’ve been on the road for this game. They take on the reigning NFC East champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Thanksgiving.

Then, cutting short their usual midseason respite, the league has Dallas scheduled for a Thursday night game the following week against the Bears--in Chicago.

For those keeping score, that’s three games and three cities in 11 days.
