NFLN Top 100: Witten Ranks No. 41

The NFL Network has declared tight end Jason Witten the 41st best player in football

Coming off a record-breaking, 110-catch season, the NFL Network has declared 31-year-old tight end Jason Witten as the 41st best player in the league in their annual “Top 100” ranking.

Witten is the only Cowboy to have made the list thus far.

As ESPN Dallas’ Calvin Watkins notes, the only other Cowboys likely to make the cut at this point are linebacker-turned-defensive end DeMarcus Ware, wide receiver Dez Bryant and--maybe--quarterback Tony Romo. Considering that two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning ranked 43rd, though, that seems a pretty big “if.”

Ware spent much of 2012 dealing with nagging injuries but still managed to finish with 11.5 sacks. Bryant, meanwhile, had a breakout year, posting 92 catches for 1,382 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns--third most in the NFL.
