NFL Obtains Photos From Greg Hardy Trial

The NFL will obtain seven photos from Greg Hardy’s domestic violence trial from the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, to aid them in their review of Hardy’s case.

Per Monroe Whitesides, the Charlotte-based attorney representing the NFL, the photos show injuries sustained by Hardy’s ex-girlfriend and accuser, Nicole Holder. The league’s medical experts will review the photos, and they’ll be available to Hardy and the NFL Players Association as well.

“Suffice it to say that we believe the photos were important in order to be as thorough as possible in the disciplinary process,” Whitesides said, per the Charlotte Observer. “The one thing we want to be is thorough.”

Hardy was found guilty in a bench trial last July, but he requested a jury trial, which was set for February. The charges were dismissed after the accuser couldn’t be located by the prosecution, and the Cowboys signed Hardy to a one-year deal in mid-March.

But the 2013 Pro Bowler could face a substantial suspension from the league, pending their review. Commissioner Roger Goodell said last week that a decision was likely to come down “in the near future,” and the acquisition of these photos likely marks a big step toward the review being wrapped up.

“These are very important photographs that we need to look at,” Whitesides said.
