NFL Moves 2014 Draft to May

The 2014 NFL Draft will be held from May 8-10 in New York City

In a move that’s been rumored for some time now, the NFL will move the draft from April to May, at least in 2014.

The NFL officially announced Tuesday that the 2014 NFL Draft will be held from May 8-10.

League commissioner Roger Goodell & co. have expressed an interest in making the move on a permanent basis, but for now, the move was simply made to avoid a scheduling conflict at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall next April. The league also won’t rule out moving the draft if necessary.

The NFL has said that even if the draft is moved, the rest of the league’s offseason schedule will remain greatly unchanged. 1984 was the last time the draft was held in May.
