NFC East Watch: Rodgers-Cromartie Joins Giants After Missing 1st OTA

CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie missed the team's first OTA on Monday

Like a lot of teams, the New York Giants opened up organized team activities on Monday, but they were missing one of their biggest names on the defensive side of the ball, in cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

But the man they call DRC was back on Tuesday, saying he had a personal matter to attend to Monday.

This, of course, refutes the whispers that Rodgers-Cromartie might be staying away from the team in response to their drafting Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple in the first round. Besides, as first-year Giants head coach Ben McAdoo was quick to point out, these are voluntary workouts.

"DRC wasn’t able to make it today,” McAdoo said, per Big Blue View. “We look forward to getting him back as soon as we can. It’s a voluntary opportunity. If he’s here we’ll coach him, if he’s not we wish him nothing but the best."

Rodgers-Cromartie is smack in the middle of a five-year deal with the Giants.
