NFC East Watch: Manning “Comfortable” with Contract Status

2015 marks the final year of Eli Manning's current contract

The New York Giants have made clear that they’re comfortable letting Eli Manning play out the final season of his current contract with no deal in place to keep him in New York beyond 2015 and, apparently, so is Manning himself.

In a conference call on the first day of the Giants’ offseason conditioning program, Manning told reporters his focus is on the football field.

“I am comfortable,” Manning said, per Yahoo Sports. “I have a job to do and that is to play football, and that is my only concern, so I have never got too caught up with contract stuff. The way I look at it is that I have one more year and I am going to play that one more year and go from there.”

Despite the lack of an extension, the Giants have been outspoken in their commitment to Manning, who has led New York to two Super Bowl victories.
