NFC East Watch: Giants Punter Rips Eagles' QBs

Steve Weatherford gave the Eagles a healthy dose of bulletin board material recently

Ah, bulletin board material. What would the offseason be without it?

Pretty much any offseason smack talk is fun. When it involves two of the Cowboys’ NFC East rivals, it’s more fun, and we got a good dose of that brand of smack talk last Friday when New York Giants’ punter Steve Weatherford went on WFAN in New York and discussed the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback situation in less than flattering terms.

"I'm the biggest Tim Tebow fan in the world," Weatherford said, per NJ.com. "I mean, who wouldn't want their daughter to date a guy like that? I'll tell you want, I don't want him taking snaps for my team."

Weatherford launched into a car metaphor to express his thoughts on Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.

"I'm gonna give you a Ferrari that maybe won't be running all the time, or I'm giving you a nice Cadillac sedan," he said, referring to Bradford and Sanchez, respectively. "It's not the fastest but you know what you're going to get out of it."

What about the idea that the Eagles will look to give Bradford an extension?

"Good luck with that. ... Chip Kelly will get himself in serious trouble if they get an extension for that guy and he gets hurt? He's done."

Ouch. As far as we know, Matt Barkley was spared from Weatherford’s critique, presumably because he couldn’t think of a car to which he could compare him.
