NFC East Watch: Beckham Jr. Dealing with Sore Hamstring

Odell Beckham Jr. missed the first four games of last season with a hamstring issue

In unwelcome news for the New York Giants, receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was limited in OTAs on Monday with a hamstring issue.

Odell is sore,” said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, per the New York Daily News.

This is troubling news for Giants fans if only because last year, when Beckham experienced some hamstring soreness, he ended up missing the entire preseason and the first four games of the season. But Beckham, the new Madden cover boy, insists this isn’t anything close to the issue he faced last year.

“Absolutely not,” Beckham said. “I try not to even think about last year. Comparing this to last year is just not even comparable.”

Beckham said his limitedness was just a precautionary measure, and that if the Giants had a game on Sunday, he’d be ready to play in it.

“That’s why it’s precautionary,” he said. “It’s always frustrating when you have to miss what you love doing. Just not practicing today was enough for me. But it’s part of the game. The good thing is that it’s just precautionary.”
