Mo Claiborne Playing with Newfound Confidence

Claiborne has impressed secondary coach Jerome Brown in OTAs

After a 2013 that saw Morris Claiborne struggle so mightily that he lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick, one might assume that the third-year cornerback’s confidence was shaken somewhat. But that’s not the case, apparently.

Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson says he’s seen a highly confident Claiborne throughout OTAs, as he competes alongside Scandrick and Brandon Carr.

I agree with that. That’s his mindset,” Henderson told the team’s official website. “He’s working hard to get better and get ready for opening day. But I like the way he’s come back.”

Claiborne will certainly get his chance to boost the coaching staff’s confidence in him. Thus far this offseason, Henderson has been rotating his top three cornerbacks so that each guy gets more or less an equal number of reps.

“We’ve got three corners who we think are starting-caliber corners,” Henderson said. “We’re just rotating those guys and getting them all reps and getting them ready to play. We knew that last year. That hasn’t changed.”
