Mo Claiborne Participating in Team Drills

Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne was held out of team drills in the first round of OTAs last week as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, but this week, he’s back as a full participant in the workouts.

It's a big advantage,” Claiborne said, per ESPN Dallas. “Every rep is important. Missing reps, being out with the team and not getting those game-time reps, it can hurt you.”

2013 was a decidedly bad year for Claiborne. He missed six games due to hamstring issues, and even when he was playing, he was doing so with a shoulder injury suffered in Week One. The low-point for the former sixth overall pick cam when he lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick.

But now that he’s healthy, Claiborne is entering 2014 optimistic.

"I'm ready to go," Claiborne said. "Last week was just something for precaution. They were holding me out. They kept asking me how do I feel, how do I feel. I kept telling them I'm great. I feel like I'm able to go out and do everything. I'm able to do everything in the weight room, and individuals is different than going out in the team periods."
