Third-year cornerback Morris Claiborne is not expected to miss any of the Cowboys’ offseason conditioning program after undergoing a pair of surgeries, one on his left shoulder and one on his finger, according to a report by Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.
Claiborne missed six games in 2012, but that had nothing to do with the shoulder or the finger. Rather, the time missed was due to a hamstring issue. He suffered the shoulder injury in Week One but played through the it using a harness, then hurt the finger some time later.
The LSU product and former first rounder has now missed seven games in his first two seasons in the league. Thanks in no small part to the six games he missed in 2013, Claiborne’s production took a hit, with his tackle total dipping from 55 in his rookie season to 26. He did record his second career interception last year, and finished with six passes defensed.
