Melton Set to Start Against Titans

Henry Melton was limited to 25 snaps in the season opener against the 49ers

Veteran defensive end Henry Melton will get his first career start as a member of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday against the Titans, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

After missing all of the preseason with knee and groin issues, Melton was limited to 25 snaps in the season opening loss to the 49ers last week and failed to record a tackle. Dallas has been careful in bringing the Texas product back after he missed most of 2013 with a torn ACL.

“I’m still going to go off what they tell me to do,” Melton said of the Week 2 matchup, “but I think I think I should be given significantly more plays this week.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean Melton will be on the field for every snap.

“A guy like him you don’t want to wear him down because of his quickness,” said defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli. “I’m hoping around that and keep kind of having the chance to rotate all these guys last week and continue to do that.”
