Meet Boston College Tackle Anthony Castonzo

If the list of pre-draft visitors spending time at Valley Ranch this week is any indicator, it’s a good bet that the Dallas Cowboys will address the offensive line with their first round pick, at ninth overall.

Boston College tackle Anthony Castonzo was among the group visiting Valley Ranch on Wednesday. According to NFLDraftScout.com, Castonzo is the second highest-rated of 144 offensive tackles in this year’s draft, and the 16th best player overall.

At 6-foot-7 and 311 pounds, Castonzo ran the 40 yard dash in 5.21 seconds and put up 28 reps of 225 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine last month. In addition to his leviathan size, Castonzo is one of the sharper prospects coming into the league in 2011; he was a straight A student at BC, majoring in biochemistry, and had the second highest score on the Wonderlic Test, with a 41.

Interestingly enough, if Castonzo landed with the Cowboys, he could potentially replace another Boston College alum, Marc Colombo, who has struggled of recent with inconsistent play and injury.
