McBriar Plays Analyst for ESPN Australia

Last week, Dallas Cowboyspunter Mat McBriar was in Hawaii for his second career appearance in the Pro Bowl; this weekend, he was back in Dallas--not as a football player, but as a television journalist--to cover Super Bowl XLV for ESPN Australia.

A native of Melbourne, McBriar averaged 47.9 yards per punt in 2010, and pinned opposing offenses inside their own 20-yard-line 22 times. McBriar is widely regarded as one of the best punters in the NFL, but he estimates himself to be less than adroit at playing analyst.

Oh, it’s easy,” McBriar said jokingly, per ESPN Dallas. “I tried to enjoy it as much as I could, but it’s not what I do. I’m terrible. I think they only used me because I’m from here and they didn’t have to fly anyone in.”
