Mat McBriar's Foot “Hasn't Improved At All”

Punter Mat McBriar returned to practice on Wednesday, after being forced to miss the second half of the 34-7 loss to the Eagles in Philly with an injury to his left foot--but since then, there hasn’t been much in the way of good news concerning the plant leg of the Dallas punter.

"I know it hasn't improved at all," McBriar said, per ESPN Dallas. "We have to get practices in and manage it better."

According to reports, McBriar saw a neurologist this week, who told him that there was no severe nerve damage and that the injury would heal on its own given time. Still, McBriar’s status for Sunday is uncertain. On Wednesday, he split reps with recently signed punter Chris Jones, and in the second half of the Philadelphia game, he was replaced by kicker Dan Bailey.

One of these two will be called upon if McBriar is unable to go. But for now, the All-Pro, McBriar is taking his recovery day by day.

"Just test it in practice and see how we go," he said. "We thought we'd be fine in the game and we weren't."
