Martellus Bennett Makes Huge Grab After Fan Falls Over Railing

Bennett is with the New York Giants this year after spending four seasons in Dallas

Former Cowboys’ tight end Martellus Bennett is having a pretty nice year for the New York Giants this season, with 39 catches, 455 yards and three touchdown grabs. But the biggest catch he’s made in New York won’t be reflected in the stat book.

Following New York’s victory over the Green Bay Packers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Bennett caught a fan who fell over the railing as Giants players exited the field. Bennett relayed the story to USA Today this week in his always colorful tone, which we got to know so well in his time in Dallas.

"I was doing what I usually do, moseying to the locker room and meandering around," Bennett said. "Naturally, I just wanted to step back, but I did the righteous thing and I stepped up. I caught him, I saved his life, I tapped into my inner superhero, which I do have.

"I'm usually a ninja, but my Spidey-senses told me he was going to take a fall, so I saved his life. He owes me his first-born or something. Actually I don't want that. Maybe a sandwich or something."
