Little Has Changed For Jenkins

The Cowboys announced earlier this week that Mike Jenkins would get the start on Sunday, as the Cowboys head to Denver to take on the 3-0 Broncos.

The announcement represented an end, albeit perhaps a temproary end, to the rotation at right corner between Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick, which was instilled as a result of the pair being equally impressive in training camp.

Denver was initially to be Scandrick's turn; but after an unimpressive performance against New York in week two by Scandrick, and a moderately impressive performance by Jenkins at Tampa in week 1 and against Carolina in week 3, the USF-product jumped his friend on the depth chart.

However, beyond Denver, little is known in the way of the future at that position. Coaches have yet to anoint Jenkins the permanent starter, leaving one to believe that--as he blogged three months ago--the position is now Jenkins' to lose, depending on his performance.

This uncertainty has all but ensured that the second-year corner will continue working as though he is locked in a position battle; because, really, he still is.

"It was easy for me from the get-go," Jenkins said, of splitting time. "I didn't stress it too much, I just did what I had to do and kept going with my day, and that's how I'm going to keep doing it. [I was told] I was back up this week. I don't know about the permanence of the situation. They haven't said anything about a permanent situation, but they said I was back up this week.

"As of right now, I'm just going to keep going like the situation is the same."
