Lissemore Back, Hopes to Play Against Bengals

DT Sean Lissemore missed around a week due to a groin injury

The Dallas Cowboys defensive line will get some depth help this week as defensive tackle Sean Lissemore returns from the groin injury that kept him out for around a week. Per ESPN Dallas, asked about his availability for the home preseason opener this Saturday against the Bengals at AT&T Stadium, Lissemore said, “I’m planning on it.

If healthy, Lissemore will likely step into a starting role in place of the injured Jay Ratliff who, like Lisemore, is making the change from a 3-4 nose tackle to a traditional 4-3 defensive tackle under Monte Kiffin this year.

"I think I can play in this defense," Lissemore said. "It's different from the two-gap scheme, but it's forgetting everything I've learned the last three years."

Even through his injury, Ratliff has been contributing to the team through the lessons he’s handed down to Lissemore.

"I get everything from him," Lissemore said. "He's been a great teacher and he's always there for me."
