Let's Play The Blame Game: Thanksgiving Edition

Well, the Cowboys lost. And that means that it’s time to dole out blame to anyone, and everyone, who may have been responsible for the Cowboys blowing what would have been a totally sweet comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving. Your nominees await:

Dez Bryant. Dez is awesome at football, as you may have noticed, but, after a reception-less first half, he was visibly upset on the sidelines. Apparently, Jason Garrett listened to his pleas for more looks, as, on the Cowboys’ last drive, they seemingly tried to force the ball to the rookie. It didn’t turn out well.

Jason Garrett. He listened to Bryant’s pleas. Plus, he’s kind of the head coach.

Andre Gurode. Snapped the football when he shouldn’t have, didn’t when he should’ve.

Roy Williams. Unless you’ve already repressed this memory--and if you have, congrats--Williams took what was almost certainly a victory-sealing catch, and turned it into a fumble, a Saints possession that ended with their game-winning touchdown. Plus, Williams himself said he is to blame, so, you know, there’s your lead candidate.

David Buehler. Made a career-long 53-yard field goal; missed a potentially game-tying--but wholly unreasonable--59-yard attempt with less than a minute on the clock.

Me. Took off my lucky hat after Tashard Choice’s touchdown.

You have your candidates, ladies and gentlemen. Go forth--and blame.
