Lee Ruled Out Against Oakland

Earlier in the week, rookie linebacker Sean Lee expressed some optimism that he would make his preseason debut Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders. Today, that hopeful idea has gone out the window, with the news that Lee, as well as safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, will remain on the sidelines tonight.

Lee’s injury goes back to late-July, when he suffered a strained quadriceps. He returned to practice last Wednesday, but, after tonight, will have missed each of the team’s first two preseason games. Owusu-Ansah is in the same boat, sort of. After undergoing shoulder surgery before the draft, he missed all of OTAs, mini-camp and the beginning of training camp.

The pair will have plenty of company on the sidelines.

Alex Barron, Scott Sicko, Cletis Gordon, Martellus Bennett, Pat Watkins, Montrae Holland, Dez Bryant and Marcus Spears will all be unavailable for tonight’s game as well.
