Lance Dunbar Might Get Start Vs. Redskins

RB Felix Jones missed Tuesday's practice with a knee injury

With Felix Jones dealing with some lingering health issues and DeMarco Murray almost certain to miss his sixth straight game with a ligament-damaged foot, rookie Lance Dunbar is preparing as though he'll get the start in the Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Washington Redskins at Cowboys Stadium.

"I think I’ll be ready," Dunbar said, per ESPN Dallas. "I've been here long enough to learn the offense and my assignments to help my team win and do whatever they need me to do whenever they need me to do."

Jones missed Tuesday’s practice session with a knee issue of some sort, which cropped up in the overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. The team’s runners combined for 101 rushing yards in the victory over the Eagles, but aside from that performance, the Cowboys’ running game has been spotty at best since Murray’s been out.

"It is frustrating,” Dunbar said, “But you need to keep sticking with it and have trust in your offensive line and your teammates and eventually stuff will work out.”
