LB Orie Lemon Signs With Chiefs

Lemon spent two seasons with the Cowboys

Former Cowboys linebacker Orie Lemon is now a Kansas City Chief.

USA Today’s Mike Garafolo tweeted that Lemon and the Chiefs struck a deal on Thursday, after Lemon tried out for and reportedly impressed the Kansas City staff.

A Houston native, Lemon spent two seasons with the Cowboys after going undrafted out of Oklahoma State. He recorded five tackles and recovered a fumble in 2012 after being promoted to the active roster from the practice squad, one of a series of moves made by Dallas when Sean Lee went down with a season-ending toe injury.

However, Lemon's time with the big club was cut short by a hamstring injury. Dallas placed him on the injured reserve on November 7.
