LB Dan Connor to Visit Giants

Connor was released by the Cowboys earlier this week

Ousted reserve linebacker Dan Connor may be staying in the NFC East.

Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sportsnet first reported that Connor, who was released by Dallas this week in a cost-cutting move, will soon make a trip to New Jersey for a visit with the rival Giants. He has already visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders.

In his lone season with Dallas in 2012, Connor recorded 57 tackles and a pass defended while appearing in 14 games. He started eight, in place of fellow inside linebacker and Penn Stater Sean Lee, who was lost for the season early on with a fractured big toe.

Before Dallas, Connor spent four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, the team that drafted him in the third round back in 2008. 2013 will mark Connor’s sixth season in the NFL.
