LB Dan Connor Signs With Giants

Connor was cut by the Cowboys last Monday

Given his walking papers by the Dallas Cowboys last Monday, veteran linebacker Dan Connor is headed northeast to join the rival New York Giants.

New York was one of three teams that gave the former Panther and Cowboy a look last week, the others being the Raiders and the Steelers. He signed with the team shortly after working out in front of the Giants’ staff on Friday.

In 2012, Connor started eight games for the Cowboys after starter (and fellow Penn State product) Sean Lee suffered a season-ending toe injury. He recorded 57 tackles, three for a loss, and broke up a pass.

After what would be his lone season in Dallas, however, the team wanted Connor to take a pay-cut. The two sides did some negotiating in the days before free agency started, but they were unable to come to an agreement and the veteran was released.
