Kyle Orton Finds a Starting Job … in Buffalo

Kyle Orton, starter?

With Tony Romo playing well behind an enhanced running game, thankfully that’s not a discussion for this year’s Cowboys. But it certainly is up in Buffalo.

Just four games into the season the 2-2 Bills have decided to bench second-year quarterback E.J. Manuel in favor of Orton, who left the Cowboys high and dry in the off-season.

“We can’t keep going in the direction we’re going,” said rookie head coach Doug Marrone.

Manuel threw two interceptions in Sunday’s loss to the Texans, but good luck with Orton. In training camp Marrone wasn’t thrilled by the addition of Orton, thinking it undermined his young starter.

All I know is that Orton didn’t want to play football all off-season. And I’m thrilled that he’s someone else’s headache.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986. He’s held prominent roles on all media platforms including newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Observer), radio (105.3 The Fan) and TV (co-host on TXA 21 and numerous guest appearances, including NBC 5). He currently lives in McKinney with his wife, Sybil, and two very spoiled dogs.
