Ken Norton Jr. Named Raiders Defensive Coordinator

Norton played for the Cowboys from 1988-1993 and won two Super Bowls with the team

Longtime Dallas Cowboys linebacker Ken Norton Jr. will run the Oakland Raiders defense next year under new head coach Jack Del Rio, the team announced on Friday.

This will be the first defensive coordinator job for Norton, who has spent the past five seasons as the linebackers coach of the Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll. He came to Seattle along with Carroll in 2010, after spending the six seasons prior as Carroll's linebackers coach at USC.

Norton was selected in the second round of the 1988 draft by the Cowboys and won two Super Bowls with the team, in 1992 and 1993, before departing for the San Francisco 49ers in 1994--the first year of free agency. He won another Super Bowl in his first year with the 49ers, his third in a row, and stayed in San Francisco through the 2000 season.
