Jones: 2011 Cowboys “the Best Team We've Put On The Field In Well Over Two Years”

As of now, the Dallas Cowboys are a .500 team, sitting dead in the middle of the pack in the NFC East, but, unsurprisingly if you’ve kept up with his remarks this season, Jerry Jones believes his team is a very good one--better, in fact, than they have been in several years.

"This is the best team we've put on the field in well over two years and I say that because of the health aspect of it," Jones said recently, per the Dallas Morning News. "I think we're in the best chance to compete, bringing the best team to the game in quite a long time."

Jones believes the team has a golden opportunity this weekend to show what they can do against the New England Patriots, long considered (and for good reason) among the elite teams in the NFL. After that, should the Cowboys pull off a victory in Foxboro, Jones believes that, more or less, the sky’s the limit for the rest of the season.

"Big wins away can really provide the underpinning for a season," Jones said. "[Two] years ago we went down to New Orleans and beat an undefeated New Orleans team and it really gave us a kickstart for the rest of the season. Those big road wins can be inspirational and hopefully we can have that with this game."
