Jerry Was “Concerned” Over Romo Being Sacked

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was sacked three times by the Dolphins on Saturday

Even given his truly heroic sense of optimism, Jerry Jones has to have known Tony Romo would be sacked at some point this season. But when it happened three times in a half against the Dolphins on Saturday night, Jones admitted he was a little bit worried.

“They were doing a pretty good job, their defensive front, so he took those three sacks and that concerned me,” Jones told the team’s official website. “Not because of being able to correct what it takes to block them, but it just concerned me that he was taking those sacks.”

Romo wasn’t exactly thrilled he was sacked, either. But he admitted it felt good to absorb some contact--the first real contact he’s had since he hurt his back last December--and bounce back up again.

The good news for Jones is that Romo won’t be sacked in the preseason finale against the Broncos this week at AT&T Stadium, because he won’t be playing.
