Jerry: Wade's the Man For the Job “Right Now”

Jerry Jones has never strayed from his stance of public confidence in Wade Phillips, so it’s not really surprising that he remains in support of the head coach today.

Phillips has made some wholesale changes since watching his team slip to 1-4 with a loss in Minnesota, including bringing referees into practice, and permanently changing the practice schedule, so as to have more chances to review the missteps therein. Phillips hopes the changes will lead to a cleaner overall performance from his team.

Whether they will remains to be seen. But it’s clear that Jones believes Phillips is the man for the job--right now, anyway.

"I have a serious confidence in our coaching staff and Wade Phillips he’s the man for the job for right now," Jones said, per ESPN Dallas. "This requires experience to address being down 1-4 and have the focus and have the ability to show players, I have seen this happen before, turnarounds. And so if I’m in this situation, and the Cowboys are, I want the experience of a Wade Phillips to give us what he’s got to help us start winning."
