Jerry Optimistic About McClain's Status for Sunday

Rolando McClain re-aggravated his groin in Sunday's win over the Texans

Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain re-aggravated his groin in Sunday’s victory over the Houston Texans, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones is optimistic that he’ll be ready for this week’s matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle. He wasn’t so optimistic about Bruce Carter, who suffered a strained quad against the Saints two weeks ago, but wouldn’t rule him out.

"Rolando looks good, according to our trainers,” Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan this week, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas. “Yesterday, he came in [and] we were pleasantly surprised. Obviously, when he starts working in, he’ll have some limitation in practice, but there’s a possibility [he plays Sunday in Seattle]. Carter, not as much so, but these guys can surprise you.

“I feel better about McClain and a little less about Carter, but we’ll see as the week goes. It’s not impossible to have both.”

In four games with the Cowboys, McClain has 23 tackles, a sack and an interception.

Carter has 25 tackles, a sack and an interception.
