It looked for a waning few moments this week that Marion Barber might make a Herculean comeback, and actually play tonight, as he remained optimistic in his concise comments to the press; but no dice.
This tosses to the wayside any hope of Barber's return this week, as well as any hope of Barber being used as a Boobie Miles-style decoy (which, it seems, many fans wanted).
This will leave Dallas' rushing attack to Tashard Choice and Felix Jones, both of which have looked impressive in their limited roles thus far this season.
Just how they will be used seems a bit unclear; Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips have both played their cards close to the chest with respect to the runners' respective roles.
Phillips, on Friday, said that the team had a plan, but that he wouldn't release it to the press.
Jones said to Archer that the team would rely on their depth at the running back position in the mean time, and that they would be "conservative" with respect to Barber's eventual return.
