Jerry Jones Admits Frustration Over .500 "Rut"

Jerry Jones finally admitted some frustration over the Dallas Cowboys’ inability to emerge on the other side of the .500 hump on Tuesday.

Since taking over as the head coach officially two seasons ago, Jason Garrett has led the team to an 18-18 record. So when they fell to 2-2 with the loss to the Chargers last Sunday, it was (unfortunately) familiar ground for the team. The road doesn’t get any easier this week for Dallas, as they go against the Broncos, a sexy pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

“Now, I said when I made all the changes this year--and we made a ton of them--when we made those changes, we’re trying to break out of this rut, if you will, of .500,” Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “Now, nobody guarantees you .500. In this league, you’ve got to really get in here and you got to have games like we had the other day or the one against Kansas City. You need to figure out how to win at least half of those games on the road. Bottom line is, we’ve got to play to the occasions.”
