Jerry: “I Feel Good About What We Can Do As A Team”

Jerry Jones wasn't discouraged by his team's effort against Baltimore on Sunday

Jerry Jones isn’t happy about his Cowboys’ 31-29 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but he is happy about his team’s near future. Or something like that. It’s hard to tell with Jerry sometimes.

I’m sick about losing this game,” Jones said, per ESPN Dallas. “I feel good about this team.

“Even though we’re 2-3, I feel good about the way we held up, stayed in there, fought, the way we did some things, executed, the way our offensive line played. There are some things I really feel good about our future with, our future being this year.”

In fairness to Jerry, the offensive line did have its best game of the year on Sunday. But at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is that it was a loss, and that the team is now 2-3. Jerry acknowledges that this isn’t where the team wanted to be at this point, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been encouraged by what he’s seen from his team this year.

“I felt we’d be better as a record,” Jones said. “But I will say this: I feel good about our team. I feel good about what we can do as a team. We know how long the journey is here in the NFL. I feel better about our team than I did frankly over the last two weeks.”
