Jerry: Barber “Probably Won't Play”

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said in his bi-weekly radio show on 105.3 FM The Fan Thursday that running back Marion Barber “probably will not play” against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Barber has been listed as questionable throughout the week, and has not practiced while nursing a strained calf.

This is no surprise, really.

Jason Garrett, earlier this week, stressed the importance of preparation in speaking about Barber, seemingly suggesting, as a result of him being unable to practice, the veteran would be held out of Sunday’s game.

You want to see something from all your players,” Garrett said, per ESPN Dallas. “He knows what we’re doing in the run game and he knows what they’re doing defensively, but you need reps. You need snaps. You need to get yourself physically and emotionally ready to play, and practice goes a long way toward doing that.”

Barber, who has 102 carries on the season for 313 yards and three touchdowns, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Felix Jones.
