Cowboys’ defensive end Jason Hatcher was called for roughing the passer in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s season-ending loss to the Washington Redskins, but he will not be fined for his hit on quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The hit was plenty costly for Dallas, as it stood--it nullified a third down stop and kept a drive that would turn into the Redskins’ final touchdown alive. At the time of the penalty, Washington was clinging to a three-point lead.
Of course, the Redskins, who saw their season end on Sunday with a loss to the Seahawks, would go on to a 28-18 victory to send the Cowboys home for the year.
