Former Dallas Cowboys tight end James Hanna is beginning to look at his options in free agency, and that begins with a visit to the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Hanna was the Cowboys’ sixth round pick out of Oklahoma in 2012 and while he never rounded into much of a receiving threat in Dallas, he developed into a one of the better blocking tight ends in the league over the first four seasons of his career.
Just to give an idea of how sparingly Hanna was used as a receiver with the Cowboys, he was limited to nine catches and 79 yards receiving last season, which isn’t a lot of catches but is also only three short of the career-high of 12 he posted (for 73 yards) in 2013.
Hanna has also drawn some interest from the Minnesota Vikings.
