There’s no doubt that, following a second consecutive 8-8 season, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will enter the 2013 season firmly on the hot seat. But is Garrett’s seat hotter than any other coach’s in the NFL?
According to one website, which studies such things, yes. Yes, it is.
CoachesHotSeat.com has long ranked college coaches in terms of the likelihood that they’ll be fired, and now they’ve expanded their operation to include NFL coaches. In their first NFL hot seat ranking, Garrett is at the top of the list, beating out the New York Jets’ Rex Ryan, who ranks second.
The Detroit Lions’ Jim Schwartz (3), Carolina Panthers’ Ron Rivera (4) and Oakland Raiders’ Dennis Allen (5) round out the top five. You can see the full list here.
