Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson showed the world he has plenty left in the tank in 2015, rushing for 1,485 yards on 327 carries, a more-than-healthy average of 4.5 yards per carry.
But Peterson will be 31 by the time next season starts, and he’s still more than 6,500 yards shy of Emmitt Smith’s All-Time Rushing Record.
Smith recently said that if Peterson can’t break his record, he doesn’t have any idea who will.
“If he doesn’t get it, I don’t know who’s going to get it,” Smith said, per Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas. “He’s still got a lot of yards to go. I’m not going to lie to you."
