If Peterson Doesn't Break Rushing Record, Smith Doesn't Know Who Will

Emmitt Smith's 18,355 rushing yards are the most of all time

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson showed the world he has plenty left in the tank in 2015, rushing for 1,485 yards on 327 carries, a more-than-healthy average of 4.5 yards per carry.

But Peterson will be 31 by the time next season starts, and he’s still more than 6,500 yards shy of Emmitt Smith’s All-Time Rushing Record.

Smith recently said that if Peterson can’t break his record, he doesn’t have any idea who will.

If he doesn’t get it, I don’t know who’s going to get it,” Smith said, per Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas. “He’s still got a lot of yards to go. I’m not going to lie to you."
