Henry Melton Says He's Ready for 49ers

Melton missed the entire preseason with knee and groin issues

Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton says he’s ready for Sunday’s regular season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon.

Melton is coming off a torn ACL that kept out of most of the season last year and the first regular season game this summer. Then, in camp, he suffered a groin injury that kept him out of the final three preseason games. No word as of yet whether he’ll be limited to a certain amount of snaps against San Francisco.

“I’m just going to go with the flow,” Melton said, per ESPN Dallas. “If they want to hold me to a certain amount of plays, I’m just going to listen to them.”

Of course, the fact that Melton didn’t play a snap in the preseason makes this a very important week of practice for the former Chicago Bear.

“The biggest thing for (Melton),” said head coach Jason Garrett, “is to get out there and practice and go against a live opponent. He was able to do some of that today.”
