Henry Melton Not Thinking About Contract

Melton is playing on a one-year deal with a three-year team option

At season’s end, the Dallas Cowboys will have a decision to make regarding defensive tackle Henry Melton.

Melton signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys this offseason with a team option for three more years, this after missing all but three games in 2013 with a torn ACL. If the team picks up the option, he will get $9 million guaranteed in 2015.

Ah, man, I don’t think about that,” Melton said, per ESPN Dallas. “We’re trying to win games.”

Coming off the knee injury and the long layoff, Melton has been getting more and more comfortable as the season has gone on. He has five sacks on the season, including 3.5 in the past three weeks.

“It’s just a process,” Melton said. “I feel I get a little bit more confident in it every week. I’m still not 100 percent, but we’re grinding it out every week, in the weight room to get it where it needs to be.”
